Niantic hasn’t released the new Pokemon Go update yet, although many sources online predicted Sept 5th. Niantic has confirmed the new buddy system as part of the new update, allowing trainers to assign Pokemon buddies to their account. They also made big changes to the Pokemon Go Terms of Service, making it very possible Pokemon trading coming soon to the game.
The next Pokemon Go update has many trainers asking; “Is Pokemon trading coming soon,” and it all centers around the new language in the ToS. According to /u/Isantum through The Silph Road subreddit, the new Terms of Service specifically indicate to Pokemon trading coming soon.
How does the Terms of Service hint at Pokemon Go trading coming soon? Here’s a few indicators of the new ToS to take note of.
“The App permits Account holders to capture and trade virtual items, including but not limited to Pokemon characters and creatures (“Trading Items”) during gameplay. Unlike Virtual Money (Pokecoins) and Virtual Goods, Trading items are obtained at no additional charge during gameplay.”
“Trading Items are a category of Content, and Niantic grants you a limited, nontransferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use such Trading Items in conjunction with your personal, non-commercial use of the Services”
This section of the new terms of service is a clear sign of Pokemon trading coming soon. It also appears as though the new trading system is not limited to Pokemon, but items as well. This is great news for trainers who may be losing interest, as trading would open upa new segment of gameplay.

The only question that’s left is how will trading happen, and when will the new release drop? Niantic has confirmed that updates should take place every 2 weeks, which means that the update should be released any day now.
